We are so tired. Bone tired. Ugh. But he had so much fun today, hehe!!

He was getting all excited and happy as we arrived … he already knows what we are going to do, what a smart boy!

He took it ALL today … two blue ribbons, two Novice Best of Breed ribbons, and two Novice Best in Multi-Breed Show ribbons, and a groovy clay pot! He really seems to enjoy applause and just loved all the judges. Tracey and Apryl handled him today and we just learned SO MUCH from them both on how to focus him, check him and what to aim for. We have so much more to learn though, but we both really enjoyed doing this, and even more importantly, TOBY loved it!

But man. Are we ever tired!!! I think we will need to cancel Monday’s puppy class just to recover. My back is just shot!

Wow! What a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG day! But so fun! THIS time I was prepared – we brought the kennel, blanket, water, munchies, treats, chairs, camera,and some toys for him. We were a LOT more prepared and he had even MORE fun.

He didn’t love the kennel all the time as he wanted to play with just every dog and every person he saw, lol. Tracey handled him this time around and she did such a MARVELOUS job with him!!! And he loved her to pieces! He came away with two blue ribbons, a Novice Best of Breed, AND he was granted a Novice Best in Multi-Breed Show ribbon as well! Not bad I’m told!

All the judges gushed over him and he just waggled that butt … I swear his tail never stopped LOL!!

Awwww he did SO good! He got two first place ribbons and a Novice Best of Breed tonight!! And he just LOVED the entire experience!

I however, was a complete doofus. Not only did I make it a few minutes later than I was aiming for – I brought NOTHING! What was I thinking??? Not very much evidently!

I brought Toby, a leash, and a camera. That’s IT. Cripes. Not a chair, not a blanket, not even TREATS, poop bags, toys, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, nothing.

He did really good and Apryl was kind enough to lend me a chair as well as handle Toby for me as I’m SUCH a novice to all of this (thanks Apryl!) and he really seemed to just eat up all the attention.

It was a lot of fun, and I learned a LOT about showing dogs as well as the breed itself – and it was fun to see the other breeds too!

Lost his first canine and an upper molar today … right before the dog show, lol. Ah well, hopefully that won’t affect how the judges see his bite.

We’ve been working on his stacking all week long and Apryl has worked with him for a couple of days too. I have learned SO much just watching her work with him. And I can see now how much I’ve coddled him.

I really need to firm up NOW so that he really knows mom is the boss. I hope he does well at the shows!! I hope he likes it and doesn’t get scared!

Toby’s lost all of his front teeth on the upper and lower and now he’s losing his molars. Our baby is becoming a little man. We only found one of his front teeth and I got a molar because he kept acting like he was licking and munching on something, and so when I scooped out his mouth I felt something, and there was one of his upper molars just angling, so I just grabbed it. lol. Now I gots me a front teefer and a molar. Hehehe!!!

Gosh he is growing SO fast. I’m going to need a bigger crate for the office! Ack! He’s getting a little thick too, we need to exercise him more. He is just such a cutie. *sigh* I need to be harder on him and he just melts me. He’s just such a loverboy. But AI know I need to crack down. How to do that and have him take notice though seems to be my main issue right now.

Toby did his first tunnel today!!! And wow, it didn’t phase him in the least. Of course I started working him on tunnels when we first got him, by taking a long narrow box that I cut both ends off of, and then made it so that was the only way to access the other side of the room and then put his high valuer toys on the other side.

He didn’t even hesitate that much, and he dove in and grabbed his toy! I clicked him every time , and boy did that seem to really help him get it.

He is just so confident and I haven’t seen him balk at a surface yet.

He took me out today. Ouch.

One should never use the flirtpole in the dark wearing black with a dog that has figured out how to cheat and catch up to the “target” by cutting across to cut the target off. He plowed right into me.

I’m a BIG girl too .. I had to work really hard to NOT land on the little dickens. Wound up with a bruised knee and shin, scraped elbow and palm.

I am amazed at how SOLID he is already. Such a little powerhouse! Sure wish I could give him a jenni!

Toby discovered a couple of patches of mushrooms or toadstools that were popping up yesterday, and ate half of them before I got to him, the little devil. So I went and buried the rest as I wasn’t sure about them … and he dug them up and ate them!

So we were really watching him, but he seemed fine for the rest of the day. When we woke up the next day, he had a little vomit stain on his blanket, but it didn’t seem bad.

Then after he ate his breakfast, he regurgitated it all, and re-ate it before I could get to him. And then he promptly regurgitated it all back up, at which point we were able to stop him from eating it again. So we decided to fast him a little and watch him really close. He did vomit up a little water, but he kept that down pretty good. At night he was SO hungry that we fed him plain white rice. What a mess! Rice grains EVERYWHERE! LOL!

The next morning, his blanket had a lot of vomit stains, but he was SO hungry, so we fed him a half cup of kibble that we soaked in water so it was soft. Once he kept that down, we started feeling better. Boy though I was worried! I can’t believe he loves mushrooms. I’m going to have to watch him on that one!
