Yes, that’s right we FINALLY settled on a name for the little devil-child … Tobias, Toby for short. We are still working on the formal registry name though.

But Tobias fits. And best of all … he responds to it! But we will still be calling him “Zerbert” and “da Boss” among the rest of his soon to be plethra of nicknames. lol.

He’s doing so well too! We really have oodles more to do with him training-wise, but we got the clicker and he sure is getting that concept down! He already shakes hands, lays down, stands, sits, knows to get in his crate when we say “Crate!”, knows “Good boy!” and loves it, is learning drop, leave, and give, and that when mom goes “AH AH AH, No, Badddd!” that he needs to just walk away to get his “Good boy!” lol!

We introduced him to the flirtpole this Sunday and BOYYYYYYYYYYYYY does he just LOVE that thing. LOL!

We’ve been doing pretty good considering how hectic things have been on his socialization I think … since he pretty much travels with us whereever we go, he’s meeting a LOT of different kinds of people and has had only positive experiences so far … so yay! He’s met a bunch of different types of dogs too – but I think he really needs more play time … he needs to have an older dog sort of teach him not to be such a brat ALL the time. lol.

Speaking of hectic … we finally got the keys to the new place today – sad thing is though that the house will be being put on the market and we have a guarantee that we will not need to move until Sept.1, and then the month to month lease starts … which means anything could happen at that point. Still, we will worry about that at some other point and time I guess, and just be happy that for now we have a place that is nice with a huge yard that doesn’t mind our breed, so YAY!

Well, Toby is needing some playtime with some trianing snuck in (he he!) so I will close with another cute picture of him that I love:

I can’t believe that I didn’t post about that yet! LOL! We *did* find a place! And the landlord is totally cool with the puppy … so yayyyyy!!!

And we have STILL not *fully* settled on a name. LOL!

We were paused on Angus for a while … the Mighty Angus. hehe. But … it just wasn’t fitting and he didn’t respond.

Now we are wavering between Takota (means friend to all), Clyde (cuz it sort of suits him), da Boss (cuz he thinks he is until someone challenges him and then “he wusses out lol .. PLUS – he responds to it. If nothing else, it will likely become one of his nicknames, like Pookie. LOL), and Griffith … which is the first name that he has repeatedly responded to and even did a couple of recalls for. So it’s looking like he’s a Griffith. Or perhaps Griffin. Though, knowing me, I’ll do some creative spelling! ;) *chortle*

He had quite the 2 weeks though! He met Mercury and Tag – the two standard poodles (the Boys) that go with their owner Karen at my work, and Savannah and Sirene – the two Rhodesian Ridgebacks (the Grrls) that go with their owner KT to my work as well. Both sets are BIG dogs to our little guy and boy he sure wanted to play but was a tad intimidated LOL.

Then Wednesday – we did a dress rehearsal for my friend Susan’s wedding, and he was crated at her house – the first time he’s been crated and we left completely ever. Well Susan and Ron have a pit bull as well, Rex, and three kids too. rex is about 2 months older than our sweetie is, so he was also bigger than ours .. so again he wanted to play, but was a tad intimidated here and there.

But he had his first run-in with kids, and just LOVED it! OMG! He just romped and galloped and wiggled the entire time.

And then today, Mandy, who is Susan’s sister (and both Susan and Mandy work at my work), who’s pit Madousa that I was babysitting got me so interested in really going for this breed, brought in her new little pit bull puppy, and OMGGG! LOL! He was SO excited that he FINALLY met someone SMALLER than he was! ROFL :D

And true to form (and one of the reasons that we are weighing “da Boss” as his name outside that he responds to it) … he saunters up to that puppy all self assured and boisterious … and trys to play a little rough and then the puppy opens it’s mouth and says “Oh yea? Let’s play!” and goes for him and he TOTALLY wusses out like “Waaaaait a sec now … this isn’t going like it should, retreat!” LOL! And then as soon as the puppy turns it’s back … he’s all “Yeah I’m da man I’ma gonna show *you* who’s da boss” … that is until the pup turns around again, LOL. He had me in stitchesssssssssss!!

But yes, quite the 2 weeks. And we are doing some training with him and plan to accelerate it this weekend. We got ourselves a clicker and wow! In a single day it’s already made SUCH a huge difference! I’m excited to work with him this weekend using that!

Oh and I should decorate this post with my current fav pic of him just to dress it up:
